Using a half sheet of 140 lb Arches, I started putting down some textural items. What you see here is some tape used between dry wall. It has a sticky side, so it doesn't move when I paint over it. I then painted two colors...blue and magenta in this case...and let them run together.
Some of my painting friends have inspired me to set up a blog where people can view some paintings, give their comments, and see what I'm working on. It's still in the infant stage, so if you have some suggestions, things you'd like to see, or demo you'd like to have me do, let me know. Following the example of others, this comes with a disclaimer...these are copyrighted paintings, and are protected under copyright laws. They are for viewing/appreciating/critiquing...not for pirating.

Beginning a large abstract
I put both small and large bubble wrap over the wet, shiny paint. Used a little salt and some spray texture.
After drying it, I removed the dry wall tape.
I loosely drew the basic pattern back onto the texture. Next week, I'll begin to paint in some of the forms I've chosen to keep. Probably add more textures as I work my way through the painting. I'm pretty excited about how the end product will look.
